John felt his face redden when the other man spoke. "Th-thank you." He stuttered, probably from the alcohol. I probably shouldn't drink anymore... he thought before taking another swig from... someones drink. It could have been Bernards, for all he knew. He didn't seem to care. He heard Collin mutter something from behind them, and could feel his smirk, if that made sense. John turned to stick his tongue out at the creepy man, whom he actually thought of as endearing, when he realized Collin had left. John wasn't sure how, he was usually aware of people moving around him, but he didn't really care. Maybe Collin just didn't like it here, the man never did like crowds. John suspected he could just become a dog or something when he felt like going home. He functioned better as a dog anyway.

((I forgot he was a shape-shifter... gonna have to remember that...))

Bernard smirked drunkenly at John as he stuttered, taking another drink from his glass. If he was already drunk, there wasn't any harm in getting even more drunk, was there? That was his logic at least and he wasn't particularly thinking about how he was going to get home either. And so, Bernard didn't pay any attention when Collin left suddenly. He was mainly focused on John anyway. He smiled and focused back on the other one, or at least, he tried to. Where he was wanting to look was just a bit in front of him and where he was actually looking was about half a foot to the left of John. Bernard extended a hand, aiming to place it on John's shoulder but instead placing it on the table. Bernard made a confused face and gave a slight chuckle. "Your should is really cold, John... and kind of sticky, actually." Bernard said, not thinking anything of it in his drunkenness.
